2010 Carnival Conclusion

Thank you to everyone who supported the TES PTO Carnival
the first weekend in October!  Several new items highlighted the
carnival this year including a used book sale, a haunted house
sponsored by the BHS Drama Club, pony rides, and live
goldfish.  Overall the carnival and silent auction together
brought in right around $6,000 for the PTO!  This was an
amazing accomplishment, unfortunately it was still below the
budgeted amount so a few additional fund development items
may have to be considered in the future.

Thank you also to the many volunteers who helped with the
carnival in some fashion.  If you were a parent volunteer, whose
child has not received a homework pass as of yet, please
contact
Kerry Spigner as soon as possible.  Also a special
thank you to the six associates from
Kohl’s Department Store
who volunteered with the carnival through their
Associates In
Action program.  Through their participation it was also
possible for the PTO to obtain a $500 grant!

Without support from parents, teachers, BHS students and the
community the carnival would not be possible.  The carnival is
the largest volunteer undertaking of the PTO and filling all of the
volunteer spots in past years has been difficult at times.  This
year the carnival was an hour shorter, then in previous years,
partly in hopes of compensating for that challenge.  

The PTO would also like to thank all of the businesses and
organizations that helped to make this year’s fall carnival and
silent auction possible!  Without their generous support we
would not have been able to raise funds for our Artist-In-
Education program, Performing Arts Program and other very
important items.  Please, whenever possible, support the
businesses and organizations,
in the attached list, that give
generously to your school and community!

Finally, if you have not completed and returned the Carnival
Report card please do so as soon as possible.  The board will
be deciding on the status of next year’s carnival within the next
couple of months.  If you would like to be part of that decision
making process or would like to volunteer to serve on the
Carnival Committee for next year please
